What it does

Slideshows live under their own menu in wp-admin. You build one by adding slides to it in the ordinary WordPress editor, so there is no separate slider builder to learn and nothing to relearn when the person looking after the site changes. A slide is one image, or one silent background video — a file from your media library, or a YouTube or Vimeo link — with an optional heading, a sentence or two and a button.

To put it on a page you paste a shortcode. That works wherever your pages are built: Enfold's Avia builder, Elementor, WPBakery, the block editor, a widget or a theme template. Sites on the block editor can use a Slideshow block instead and pick the slideshow from a list. Because a slideshow is built once and referenced, the same one can appear on several pages and be changed in one place.

On the front end it moves between slides with arrows, dots and swipe, without loading a slider library. It is reachable and operable by keyboard, it respects a visitor's reduced-motion setting, and where it advances on its own there is a visible pause control and it stops when the visitor moves focus into it — the points sliders are usually pulled up on in an accessibility audit. A background video plays only while its slide is showing, and a YouTube or Vimeo slide is not fetched from that service until a visitor reaches it. There is no licence key to enter.

What the licence covers

• Updates to the plugin for as long as the licence is current, installed for you as part of your regular update run.
• Compatibility work as WordPress, PHP and the block editor change.
• Support by email from the people who wrote it.

What it does not do

• It is a slideshow, not a slider builder. There is no visual layer editor, no animation timeline, and no placing text over a slide pixel by pixel. If that is what you need, this is the wrong plugin and we will say so.
• A slide is one image or one silent background video with a heading, a short text and one button, not an arbitrary layered design.
• Background video has no sound and no player controls. A YouTube or Vimeo slide is loaded from that service when the slide is shown, whatever a cookie-consent plugin on the site says, so use a video file from your media library where consent matters. A Vimeo video only hides its own player controls if the account it belongs to is on a paid Vimeo plan.
• It does not build slideshows out of your posts, your products or an Instagram feed.
• It is not a lightbox, a gallery or a logo ticker.
• It renders where you put the shortcode. It does not insert itself into a theme's own slider position, so on some themes a hero slideshow means editing a template — which is work we would quote.
